Was it planned or a luck shot? I know you are a planner kind of a shooter but even so you could have gotten lucky.

I always look for mimics or interactions between statues and people and I know Florence very well, I go there often, so there are many ideas sitting in my mind. Pointing at a statue...well it is not exactly such an unusual gesture, I was able to capture it many times and choose my favorite one!
